Lee To Lead Malaysia Delegation To APEC Finance Ministers' Meeting In Vietnam:

Deputy Minister of Finance II, Senator Datuk Lee Chee Leong, will lead the Malaysian delegation to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Finance Ministers' Meetings from Oct 20 to 21, 2017 in Hoi An, Vietnam. In a statement today, the Ministry of Finance said the APEC FMM would discuss and exchange views, among others, on current issues affecting the global economy, international financial system and financial outlook that economies were facing and the appropriate policy responses needed.

Duterte, Trump to hold bilateral talks in November - " Cayetano:

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte and United States President Donald Trump are set to hold bilateral talks in November, Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano said on Wednesday. Cayetano said organizers are still coordinating whether to hold the talks on the sidelines of Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Vietnam or on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations conference in Manila.

Flood, landslide fatalities in Vietnam surge to 77:

Flash floods and landslides triggered by heavy rain in Vietnam's northern and central regions since early last week have killed 77 local people. They have also left 26 local people missing, and injured 38 others, Vietnam's Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control said on Thursday.

Paul Chan to attend APEC Finance Ministers' Meeting in Vietnam:

Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po, , will depart for Hoi An in Vietnam tomorrow to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Finance Ministers' Meeting, his office said today. Apart from attending the APEC Finance Ministers' Retreat on Friday and join discussions at various sessions, Chan will also hold bilateral meetings with other financial officials.

On March 21, Serbia's Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic praised North Korea's refusal to recognize Kosovo's independence. Jose Sandoval, 83, of Redlands, an Air Force Veteran who fought in Vietnam and Korea will finally receive his diploma during a ceremony organized by the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools. Sandoval and five other veterans who served in the military during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War will also be receiving their diploma during the ceremony.

A Vietnam Airlines Airbus A321-200, registration VN-A610 performing flight VN-7179 from Hanoi to Da Nang , landed on Da Nang's runway 35R at 21:48L with the first officer being pilot flying. The aircraft touched down to the right of the runway center line, the captain took control of the aircraft, the aircraft however continued to veer right temporarily leaving the runway with the right main gear.

Photo: Reuters Vietnam braced for typhoon Khanun on Monday after destructive floods battered the country's north and centre last week, killing 72 people, the disaster prevention agency said.

Death tolls from floods, landslide in Vietnam surges to 60:

Landslides and floods caused by torrential rain this week in Vietnam's northern and central regions have killed 60, left 37 missing and injured 31 others, the country's Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control said on Sunday. The victims included 20 people in northern Hoa Binh province, 15 in central Thanh Hoa province, and nine in central Nghe An province.
